5 POWER SOURCE S You can po wer your TV/radio/casset te from three power sources: • internal battery powe r (using ten D batteries, not included) • standard AC po wer (using the sup- plied AC ad apte r) • vehicle battery power (using the supp lied DC power cor d ) USIN G INTERNAL BA TTER Y POWER You can power the TV from ten D batter- ies.
6 USING AC POWER To use AC power, connect the suppl ied AC ada pter to the DC : 12 ~ 15V ja ck o n the back of TV/radio/casset te. Then plug the other end into a s tandard AC outlet. When y ou conn ect the A C a dapter, t he batteries automat ically disconnect .

8 PREP ARA T ION CONNECTING ANTENNAS Built-in Antenna The bui lt-in telescopi ng a ntenna u sually provides go od reception o f FM, VH F, and UHF broadcast signals. Extend the antenn a ve rtically to its full length for channel s 2 to 6 (VHF-LOW) and 14 to 69 (UHF ).
9 CONNECT ING EARPHONES For private listening, plug a pair of op- tional earphone s with a 1 / 8 - i nch (3.5 mm) mini -plug into the PHONES jack on t he side of the TV/ radio/cassette. Listen ing Safely To protect your hearing, follow t hese guidelines when y ou us e earphon es.

11 TV RECEPTION TIPS If the image is bl urry, unstable, or snowy, t he signal recept ion m ight be weak. T his can be caused by your loca- tion or the telesc oping ant enna’s posi- tion and le ngth. Buildings wi th steel constr uction can al so cause rec eption problem s.

13 USING THE CASSETTE RECORDER The cassette recorder has a f u ll-rel ea se auto-st op system to protect tapes and preven t pinch roller da mage. Whe n a tape reaches t he end of a side, the tape mechani sm autom atically stops an d re- leases the tape.

16 Res torin g T ape T ensio n a nd Sound Quality After you play a cas sette t ape several times, the tape mig ht become t ightly wound on the ree ls. This can cause playback sound quali ty to deteriorate. To restore the sound quality, fast-for- ward the tape f rom t he beginni ng to the end of on e side, then com pletely rewind it.

18 CHANGING T HE FUSE If the TV/radio/cassette stops working properly while using vehicle batt ery power, follow these steps to check the DC power cord’s 2 amp fuse. If the fuse needs replac ing, use onl y a fast-acting 2-amp fuse, such as RadioSha ck Cat.
